I missed Transformation Tuesday so I'm making up a new day called Don't forget "where you came from Wednesday" LOL I brought out this picture because it is the beginning of one of our challenge groups. It’s a time when before pictures are taken to show where we are now and to show us how far we’ve come when we start reaching our goals. They’re not always our favorite pictures and sometimes they bring on some pretty harsh emotions. That’s okay because the reality is >>>> it’s not the end, but just the beginning of a healthy change that will last a lifetime! You wouldn’t know it from the journey I have been on and the smile on my face, but when I took this “before” picture I was at a unique crossroads. You see, the girl in this picture struggled with an eating disorder for many years. When I was at a low point, I took a path that was very dark and one that not many know about. It was a very unhealthy place, mentally, physically, and emotionally. A place that not many understand and those that do wouldn’t wish it on their worst enemy. What makes this picture so different, so special?? I decided that I was going to make a positive change in my life. God gave me a second chance and I wasn't going to take that for granted. I decided that I was going to not just lose weight but GET HEALTHY and this time I was going to DO IT THE RIGHT WAY! I had seen enough transformations and even started one a program before so I knew that I could trust the programs to work for me as long as I pushed play and did the work. What I didn’t realize is just how much being involved in a challenge group would help me transform my body AND my mind. I learned about how nutrition really works, met other women conquering their own struggles, and I learned to love myself from start to finish gaining a new confidence in my ability to have complete control over my thoughts, my health and my nutrition. Why am I telling you this?? Because I wanted to show you that anyone, and I mean ANYONE can accomplish their fitness goals. I don’t always want to workout EVERY day, and the motivation to get up and do it is sometimes a little low. And hey, sometimes I skip days!! I’m human!! Ladies who don't want to drag themselves out of bed but KNOW they will be happier if they do. Ladies who have NO TIME to workout unless they set aside time. Ladies who have been telling themselves FOR MONTHS they will "start tomorrow." Ladies who put everyone else before themselves because it’s just what we do. I just had emergency surgery that left me on bedrest for weeks. Instead of coming out stronger than before, I came out lethargic and feeling my worst. I knew a change had to be made, but I had no idea where to start. I didn't have much confidence in myself because I had started and quit so many times. I came to a point where I was depressed and having a hard time looking in the mirror because I knew what I saw was not the real me. Something had to be done and I knew it had to be done differently than what I'd done before so I got a hold of my friend and joined her next challenge group. I had no idea what to expect. I didn't know if a group online could really help me stay on track to reach my goals, but with nothing to lose I gave it a shot! Little did I know just how much it would change my fitness world. The group was all about fitness, nutrition, support, and accountability. Before, workouts would NOT happen on days where I woke up with no motivation but this time was different. I would check into the group, see pictures of people after workouts, motivation from the group leader, and encouragement from people seeing results. It was a mixture that fueled me every day!! I wouldn't miss a workout unless it was out of my hands and if I did I would ALWAYS make it up. I thought to myself, who is this person?? I was transforming from the inside out. Working out, which was once more of a burden, was becoming part of my every day life like brushing my teeth. I had to do it or my day was off! I looked forward to checking into the group every day to encourage others and be encouraged myself. It made pushing play that much more enjoyable for me, and since starting I have never looked back. Okay, so what if I told you it would only take 1% of your day to completely transform your body, would you do it? I would and did!! After Hip Hop Abs, I moved on to Focus T25 and it completely changed my fitness world! 25 minutes workouts 5 days a week got me the body I didn't get from years of sports growing up. "So you're telling me I don't have to spend an hour or more in the gym?? NO, you really don't! It took less time to transform my body than it did for me to cook dinner. I wasn't perfect by any means. I didn't always stick to my meal plan but I pushed play EVERY DAY because I knew it would work! It can WORK FOR YOU too!
